THE cause of an elderly Portishead man’s death was accidental, an inquest has ruled.

William Robertshaw, aged 79, of Nore Road, died on November 26 after suffering several falls at his home and knocking his head, causing a subdural hematoma, where blood collects on the brain.

Coroner Phillip Howells recorded at the Flax Bourton coroner’s court that the twin causes of the BBC engineer’s death were bronchial pneumonia and a subdural hematoma.
