The thrills and spills of Portishead SoapBox Race will be enjoyed in Esplanade Road on July 14.

A huge crowd is expected to enjoy the fun-filled extravaganza which attracts people from all over the UK.

The race has proved a huge hit over the years, raising thousands of pounds for charity as homemade carts try to navigate a treacherous course packed with obstacles.

More than 10,000 people attended the race at the Lake Grounds in 2018, as racers travelled from as far afield as Scotland to compete for the crown.

Teams hoping to take part in this year’s race can register online on February 2 at 1pm.

Entry costs £150-210 per team, and each team is required to raise £200 which will be donated to charity.

To register, log on to www.portisheadsoapbox.co.uk

Entry is free for spectators.
