BRAVE parents and grandparents are preparing to abseil down the Avon Gorge to raise money for improving Wraxall Primary School’s playing fields.
This month 14 fathers, one mother and one grandfather will get strapped up to tackle the 60m cliff face as they close in on their fundraising target.
A total of 19,000 has been raised in recent years towards helping level the school’s famous sloping playing field.
Last year 10 parents raised 8,400 in a sponsored skydive and various other regular events, including car boot sales and cakes sales have helped them towards their target of around 28,000.
The sponsored abseil, which starts at 1.30pm on Saturday, will be followed by a whole school picnic on Clifton Downs.
