Two clubs celebrated 70 years of dancing tradition over the weekend.

More than 60 members from Yatton and Clevedon’s Sequence Dance Clubs took part in the event on Saturday which featured prosecco, sandwiches and beautifully decorated cake.

The clubs met at Failand Village Hall, in Ox House Lane, and chairman of the Yatton club, Alan Hale, said a ‘great time was had by all’ at the tea dance.

Head of Clevedon’s group, Pam Richards, proposed a toast to the future of both thriving clubs and is looking forward to the club’s centenary celebrations.

Sequence dancing involves a variety of styles from traditional ballroom, line, square and circle numbers.

Clevedon’s group meets every Friday at 7.45pm and Yatton’s gets together on Thursdays at 2pm.

To join either clubs or for further information, contact Mr Hale on 07923 514562.
