Cyclist ‘punched pensioner’ in Clevedon

A 72-year-old man was ‘punched to the ground by a cyclist’ while walking on the pavement with his wife in Clevedon.

Police have charged Kyle Richards, aged 25, with assault causing actual bodily harm following the alleged incident on May 30.

He is accused of hitting the pensioner, having been riding on the pavement at about 1.15pm.

The alleged victim was walking with his wife in Great Western Road at the time.

Richards was charged on Thursday and is due to appear at North Somerset Courthouse on August 11.
