A cyclist has died after colliding with a car on a vehicle road near Portishead.

The incident happened on the A369 at Martcombe Road, near junction 19 for the M5, at around 9.30pm last night (Wednesday).

The road was closed for several hours in both directions while Avon and Somerset Constabulary dealt with the incident.

Police have yet to publicly identify who the victim was.
