Recent cases dealt with by magistrates in Weston include:

* A Weston man appeared before magistrates charged with FOUR speeding offences within six weeks of eachother - two of those coming on the SAME DAY.
Shayne Jonathan Hele, of Peritrack Lane, Weston, appeared before Avon and Somerset Magistrates sitting in Weston on May 24, where he admitted the four counts.
They were:
On June 9, 2021, he drove at 80mph on the M5 southbound between junctions 16 and 17. The limit was 70mph.
On June 12, 2021, he drove at 85mph on the M5 northbound between junctions 17 and 16. The limit was 70mph.
On June 12, 2021, he drove at 85mph on the M4 eastbound between junctions 20 and 19. The limit was 70mph.
On July 17, 2021, he drove at 79mph on the M4 eastbound between junctions 20 and 19. The limit was 70mph.
The 46-year-old was handed a £100 fine for each offence, as well as being ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £34 for each offence.
His licence was endorsed with three penalty points for three of the offences.

* Driving without a licence and insurance on Christmas Eve ended in a fine for a Weston man.
Mark Lockner, of Selwood Close, Weston, appeared before magistrates in Weston on May 24 to face the charges, which occurred on December 24 last year.
The 39-year-old admitted the charges and was fined £133 for driving without a licence and £400 for having no insurance.
He was also ordered to pay £85 in court costs and a £53 victim surcharge.
His licence was also endorsed with six penalty points.

* A 29-year-old man has been fined after speeding at 85mph on the M5.
Jake Hanson, of Old Church Road, Clevedon, appeared before magistrates in Weston on Monday, May 23.
He admitted speeding between junctions 17 and 16 on the northbound M5 on September 7 last year.
Hanson was fined £146 and ordered to pay a £34 victim surcharge and £85 court costs.
He also received three points on his driving record.

* A man was fined more than £1,000 for driving in Weston without insurance.
Matthew Edward Robson, of Regents Court, Weybridge, Surrey, appeared before Avon and Somerset Magistrates sitting in Weston on May 24.
He was charged with driving on Puxton Road, Weston, without valid insurance on May 30 last year.
Magistrates fined the 56-year-old £1,056 and ordered him to pay a £106 victim surcharge and £90 court costs.
His licence was endorsed with six penalty points.

* Driving without insurance resulted in a fine of £264 for a 50-year-old Weston man.
Daniel Lazar Zlate, of Grove Park Road, Weston, did not appear before magistrates in Weston charged with the offence, committed on December 12 last year.
He was found guilty and as well as bring fined, was ordered to pay £85 in court costs and a £34 victim surcharge.
Zlate was also disqualified from driving for six months.
