FOUR men have pleaded guilty to attempted robbery following a raid on a village post office last month.

The incident happened at lunchtime on January 5 when a group of men went into Pill Post Office in Baltic Place and demanded money.

However, they left empty handed and five men were later arrested when police stopped a car in the village. They were later charged.

A hearing was held at Bristol Crown Court on February 3 when all five men entered pleas.

Ashley Mullen, aged 24 of no fixed abode, Jack McNeil, aged 23 of no fixed abode, Cy Sedgeman, aged 22 of Awdlett Close, Bristol, and Michael Nugent, aged 18 of Rose Court, Bristol, all pleaded guilty to attempted robbery and aggravated vehicle taking and not guilty to threatening a person with an offensive weapon. Shem Baber, aged 22, of Stillman Close, Bristol, pleaded not guilty to attempted robbery and aggravated vehicle taking. He is due to go on trial later this year.
