A Portishead husband has been handed a suspended sentence after stabbing his wife on Boxing Day last year.
Neil Doull, aged 57, admitted one charge of wounding causing grievous bodily harm after harming his wife Tracey.
Doull, of Helmlea, stabbed her with a knife after they enjoyed a dinner party with neighbours.
The incident left Tracey needing stitches in her torso.
Judge Michael Roach, sentencing Doull at Bristol Crown Court on Thursday, handed him a eight-month prison sentence, suspended for two years.
