A Redhill man accused of taking a gun into The Golden Lion pub in Wrington intending to endanger life has been refused bail.
Keith Hayward, of Lyecross Road, appeared at North Somerset Courthouse near Weston-super-Mare on Tuesday.
A second man was arrested on suspicion of assault, but he has not at this stage been charged with any offence.
Hayward, aged 51, will next appear at Bristol Crown Court at the end of the month.
Police closed Wrington’s Broad Street for several hours on Sunday evening while they ensured the neighbourhood was safe.
