Crews tackle M5 fire

Fire crews from Clevedon and Portishead were called to an incident on the M5 last night (Wednesday).

Three engines attended the scene of a vehicle fire involving a Peugeot vehicle on the motorway between junctions 19 and 20 at 8.46pm.

A spokesman for Avon Fire and Rescue said: “Crews in breathing apparatus tackled the fire using a high pressure hose reel.”

The fire is being treated as accidental.
