A key commuter route connecting North Somerset with Bristol is closed after an accident this morning (Wednesday).

The A369 Pill Road in Abbots Leigh is shut in both directions due to a collision, which occurred at around 6.20am.

The crash happened near Harris Lane and is causing significant delays for motorists.

The Times understands emergency services are at the scene.

AA Traffic reports: “The road is closed and there is queuing traffic due to accident on A369 Pill Road both ways near Harris Lane.

“The accident happened around 6.20am and it is affecting traffic heading towards Bristol.”
