Community invited to take part in anniversary craft project

Clevedon Pier is looking for people to take part in a craft project to celebrate the landmark’s 150th anniversary.
The pier wants to create a snapshot of the pier's history in stitches and is asking people to contribute to the display.
Organisers are hoping to fill a fabric base with images created by the community, using methods such as embroidery or appliqué.
A pier spokesman said: "The project represents in stitches the fabric of people who have supported the pier throughout its history and marks a bright and diverse future."
People can pop along to drop-in sessions at the pier, which are running until November, or they can borrow the equipment and work on the project at a different venue.
The final piece will be displayed in a celebration exhibition, before being added to the archive for future generations.
