NORTH Somerset Council is embarking on a 150,000 road surface improvement scheme across the region.
The work, which is being carried out by contractors Balfour Beatty, will continue over the next three weeks.
A council spokesman said a patch planer will allow them to remove the old surfaces and replace them quicker than it would have been previously able to.
Roads in Clevedon, Nailsea, Yatton, and Clapton-in-Gordano have all been earmarked for improvements.
