Council delays sky lanterns ban decision

Portishead Town Council has deferred a decision to ban sky lanterns being let off from its land.

The recreation and works committee debated whether to follow Avon Fire Authority’s call to ban Chinese-style sky lanterns on safety grounds.

Councillors asked for more evidence of problems before making a decision.
