VOLUNTEERS are being sought to join the Coastguard Rescue Service in Clevedon and Portishead.
The service’s members are fully-trained and equipped to carry out rescue and accident prevention work along the coastline.
This could involve being called out at any time of the day or night, in all weathers, to search for missing people, carry out cliff rescues or helping to free people trapped in mud.
Anyone applying needs to be aged 18 or above, reasonably fit and have a good standard of general health. They will also need to be able to respond to emergencies at any time and hold a full UK driving licence.
Anyone interested should contact Tris Newey by emailing tristam.newey@mcga.gov.uk or calling 01934 418907 or 07970 765559.
