A PLANNING application has now been submitted for the conversion of a Clevedon convent site into flats and houses.

ATA Estates wants to transform the former Convent of Mercy in Marine Hill into nine flats with the proposals also including the creation of five contemporary family homes on land that stretches to Leagrove Road.

The company recently held a consultation evening to give local residents the chance to see the plans before they were submitted to North Somerset Council.

If allowed to go ahead, the work will see some newer outbuildings on the site demolished to allow the grounds to be landscaped and the new houses to be built.
