Parents and carers of children with special education needs (SEN) are being asked to share their views in a North Somerset Council consultation programme.

The authority wants feedback about its short breaks service, which offers youngsters with SEN the chance to spend time away from home or provide respite for parents.

Jan Barber, executive member for children’s services, said: “Everyone has the chance to have their say on short breaks, a service which is incredibly important to families who use it.”

The consultation will be available online, and a drop in session will be held at Portishead’s St Barnabas Centre, in West Hill, on November 7 and November 22 from 1-3pm.

Kingsmour Playground, in Kingston Seymour’s Middle Lane will also host sessions on Tuesday from 11am-2pm and November 1 from 1.30-4pm.
