Summer fete held in Congresbury

A village held its annual summer fete on Saturday.

The Congresbury fete which was held at St Andrew's Church Paddock had plenty of activities and entertainment.

Val Hodgson won first prize with her roses in the gardening competition and Rosemary Bailey won best exhibit with her flower arrangement in a shoe.

Linda Bancroft also received an award for her broad beans and Vasci Koblizek for his perfect peas.

Artists displayed their artwork at the fete and Congresbury Friends sold decorated doorstops.

Families were also invited to take part in a cricket match as the sun was shining.

People also got to enjoy a steel band and a human fruit machine game.
