HULA hoop challenges, orienteering, relay races and BMX lessons were some of the activities which helped to raise more than 1,300 for charity.
Portbury hosted its own Community Games as part London 2012 Olympic celebrations at the weekend, organised by torchbearer and villager Sharon Worthy.
Held at Portbury’s recreation ground, the events attracted more than 200 people interested in having a go at the wide range of activities, which also included archery, golf, zumba and rowing challenges.
As a result, a total 1,348 was raised and will be split between Help for Heroes and Macmillan Cancer Support.
