Plans to turn old Clevedon stables into houses

Stables could be transformed into new homes in the centre of Clevedon.
The building at 7 Old Street is currently used for storage but Stokes Morgan Planning wants to turn it into four houses, and has submitted an application for prior approval to North Somerset Council.
The development would also include two off-street parking spaces per house.
The planning statement says: “The proposed residential use would generate less vehicular movements than the current office use, and the reduction in the use of the shared vehicular access on to Old Street would deliver improvements to highways safety.
“On the balance of the issues, the residential conversion of the existing office building into four dwellings is a form of sustainable development which would make most efficient use of the site.”
North Somerset Council has set a deadline of Monday for comments about the application and they can be submitted through its website.
