Clevedon students lived life like the Victorians during a literary culture tour.
Year nine students from Clevedon School, in Valley Road, went on a tour of the Tyntesfield grounds in Wraxall.
They read the work of Victorian era writers Shelley, Bronte, Dickens and Stevenson in different places around the estate and tried to imagine what life would have been like.
The National Trust, who runs the estate, provided booklets with information on every text to help the students understand the different settings.
Head of English, Jo Carrington, said: “Our students really entered into the spirit of this trip and it brought the learning alive.
“This is such a fabulous foundation for the context of the course. Next year we hope to take the whole of year nine so they can experience this cultural immersion.”
