A 10ft tree will brighten the grounds of Clevedon's hospital thanks to James Shopland and Shoplands Sawmills.

James and his team delivered and positioned the tree at North Somerset Community Hospital, in Old Street, for staff and the chairman of the hospital’s Friends group, Di Brown, to decorate.

He said: “The Shoplands have been supporters of the hospital for many years and it was important to continue to do so and we hope the tree will bring a smile to people’s faces.”

Nurse manager for the Minor Injury Unit, Helen Stevens, said: “We are delighted to accept this beautiful tree and as we have upwards of 300 people a day attending this site.

“It will really help to spread some Christmas cheer.”

The hospital will be open from 8am-8.30pm each day over the festive season, except for Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day when it will be open for eight hours from 10am-6pm.
