Marine Lake was full of swimmers taking part in its first ever SwimRun at the weekend.
The event, held as part of the Marine Lake Enthusiasts (MARLENS) open water series, gave fitness fanatics the chance to take part in either a 1km swim and 5k run, or a 2k swim and 7k run.
As well as taking a dip in Marine Lake, participants were cheered on by supportive spectators as they ran along the seafront in the direction of the pier and back.
The SwimRun originated in Sweden as a bet between two friends who attempted to swim and run along Stockholm’s archipelago.
The final event in the MARLENS open water series, which has been organised to raise money for Marine Lake, will be the annual long swim which will start in Ladye Bay.
