Clevedon’s Curzon Cinema has reopened its doors in time for Christmas.

Bringing a lively and varied programme just in time for the holiday season, the Curzon has planned film screenings to brighten the end of the year.

The cinema, in Old Church Road, reopened on Saturday.

Covid-safety measures are in place meaning that tickets for all screenings are reduced due to social distancing, with numbered and allocated seating.

Masks are required to be worn throughout the cinema, although they may be removed in seats whilst eating or drinking.

Increased cleaning regimes are in place with additional cleaning between screenings.

Hand sanitiser will be available throughout the cinema, one-way systems will be evident with signs pointing customers in the right direction. There is also increased ventilation in the auditorium.

Customers are encouraged to purchase tickets online if possible, and use contactless payment within the cinema.

Opening with the brand-new blockbuster from the DC franchise: Wonder Woman 1984 is set in the Cold War and follows Diana and her past love as they face off against villains, Maxwell Lord and Cheetah.

Some classic Christmas specials will also be screened with Elf at 1.30pm on Thursday and The Muppet Christmas Carol on Wednesday at 1.30pm.

Also being shown is the 1967 production The Producers. It has often been billed as the funniest film ever made, written by Mel Brooks and starring Zero Mostel and Gene Wilder.

The film will be shown at 7.30pm on December 29.

The Princess Bride makes a one-off appearance between Christmas and New Year on December 30 at 1.30pm.

This film broke the fairy-tale mould on its release and has paved the way for a whole host of more creative imaginings of the genre ever since.

Come Away is another new release starring Angelina Jolie and David Oyelowo, this fantasy pays homage to both Peter Pan and Alice in Wonderland, directed by Brave’s Brenda Chapman, it’s a sure-fire winner to entertain the younger audience this holiday.

It will be screened at 1.30pm on December 28 and 29.
