A Clevedon organisation has raised more than £8,000 to give to charity and other good causes during its financial year.

The Rotary Club of Clevedon Yeo has donated to thousands to the town's foodbank and Children's Hospice South West, as well as hundreds to the area's scout and guides groups.

Clevedon First Responders, rugby and youth mentoring groups also benefitted, as well as Southmead Hospital's prostate appeal.

The group wished to thank the town for its collective efforts throughout the year.

A spokesman said: "Clevedon has a small but dedicated group at Rotary, which work to improve our community.

"Thank you for your continued support."

The club will donate between £3,000-4,000 to Cancer Research UK, and money was raised for the cause at its charity concert in May.

The group collected the funds through quizzes, raffles, sponsored walks and more.
