With this year’s Theatre Shop schedule set to get underway next week, a community group has thrown its support behind the project.

Clevedon Pride has donated £250 to the Theatre Orchard to help it continue staging the annual programme of entertainment in Queens Square.

Clevedon Pride member Julie Bisacre said: “We wanted to support this facility in Clevedon to promote the arts in the town and make sure that the Theatre Shop continues to provide Clevedon with good quality theatre.

“We were particularly impressed with the diverse range of theatre it provided in 2016 for both adults and children, and would like Clevedon to benefit from this fabulous resource in 2017 and in years to come.”

The Theatre Orchard will put the cash towards its publicity and printing costs.

The first Theatre Shop show of 2017 will be Yorgjin Oxo by Thomas Crowe at 7.30pm on March 2.
