Clevedon Pier and Heritage Trust has revealed three partners for an upcoming education scheme.

Querceus Design, Wide Sky Design and the Workhaus have joined forces for the project which will allow visitors to learn more about the pier, the town and the ecology of the Severn estuary.

The award-winning Querceus Design has worked on projects for organisations including the National Trust and Houses of Parliament, while it was also part of the bid team that helped secure Heritage Lottery Funding for the pier’s new visitor centre.

Wide Sky Design is a specialist in interactive exhibits and equipment while The Workhaus is a specialist museum workshop which has worked with the likes of Chelsea Football Club and the Cutty Sark.

Simon Talbot-Ponsonby, chairman of the Clevedon Pier and Heritage Trust, said: “We have found the ideal partners for this work.

“We intend to provide information, artefacts and displays which will enrich the visitor experience.

“The pier, the town of Clevedon and the estuary have a lot of good stories to tell.”

Michael Oakenfull, owner of Querceus Design, added: “The team is very excited to be working on this project for the pier trust.”

Work is expected to be completed early next year to coincide with the opening of the new visitor centre.
