It was time for some revellers to blow away the cobwebs for the New Year’s Day Swim.

Hundreds of people lined the lake to watch people take the plunge into cold water for charity.

Dozens of swimmers faced temperatures between 3-5C at the annual event as they swam to the pontoon and around the lake to keep warm.

Some swimmers stuck to the traditional suit or trunks while others opted for more elaborate and festive-themed costumes and tops.

Spectators and swimmers put their pennies into the buckets to raise important funds for the Clevedon Marine Lake Enthusiasts (MARLENS), which is responsible for the general upkeep and maintenance of the lake.
