Police have confirmed today (Friday) that a missing man from Clevedon, who suffers from Alzheimer’s, has been found following an appeal yesterday.

Janos Urgyan, who is also known as John, went missing at around 7pm on Wednesday and police were concerned about his welfare.

However, an off-duty officer in Clevedon found the 80-year-old safe and well.

He was taken to hospital to be checked over.

A spokesman for Avon and Somerset Constabulary said: “Thanks to everyone who helped with the search over the past day, including HM Coastguard, the NPAS helicopter crew, and our dog and mounted units.

“Also thanks to everyone who phoned in with information and helped share our appeals.”
