A Clevedon girls’ football club has bought new kits thanks to money donated by Clevedon Lions Club.

Clevedon United’s girls’ under-13s and under-15s were given cash through the Lions Dream Scheme project which has allowed them to buy matching kits complete with the Lions club logo.

Lions president Paul Pollock said: “These are only two of the examples where the Lions in Clevedon are making a difference to the lives of our local community.

“I encourage everyone to support this year’s Lions Dream Scheme collections on our Santa float around the town and at our supermarket collections during December.

“Every penny counts as all the money raised will be used to support the wonderful voluntary sector we have in Clevedon meaning that hundreds of local residents who attend these clubs will benefit in some way.”

Clevedon Lions Club’s Santa float will have its first outing of the year on Monday.
