Clevedon Lions Club has handed hundreds of pounds to a hospital charity.

The club raised £800 through its Tree of Light scheme during the Christmas period.

Messages for loved ones were placed on the tree at Clevedon Baptist Church, with money being split evenly between the Teenage Cancer Trust and the Stroke Association via Bristol Children’s Hospital’s Above and Beyond charity.

The Lions club’s latest fundraiser will be held at the weekend.

The annual classic car event will see more than 150 vintage vehicles gather at Cadbury, a Wyevale Garden Centre in Congresbury at 10am on Sunday.

Drivers will then head on a picturesque 30-mile journey before parking up at Clevedon’s Salthouse Fields at around 12.30pm.

Money will go to Children’s Hospice South West.
