Clevedon Lions Club has held a seafront celebration to mark Lions International's 100th anniversary.

Tea and cakes were offered to visitors at the bandstand in Elton Road while club members were available to chat to and provide information on the history of the group, as well outlining its fundraising and community support work.

Club member Peter Marlow said: “We were delighted to see how interested people are about the voluntary work that Lions do for the town – however, we always need additional help and would encourage anyone interested in finding out more to contact us by emailing clevedonlions@gmail.com”

The party was held at the bandstand where the Lions club has recently paid to install new seats for its centennial project.

The flowerbed in front of the seats has also been planted with yellow and purple flowers displaying the number 100.
