Thousands of pounds has been handed to a children’s charity.

Clevedon Lions has given £5,000 to Children's Hospice South West, which runs Charlton Farm in Wraxall.

The cash was raised at the Lions' classic car rally, which was held on the Salthouse Fields.

Emma Parker accepted the cheque the cheque from Lions' Glynn Hill.

This year's car rally had a record attendance of more than 200 classic cars together with motorbikes, lorries and a classic charabanc which was offering a magical mystery tour.

Plans have begun for next year's event and the Lions was praised by North Somerset Council for the way the Salthouse Fields was cleaned and tidied at the end of the day.

A Lions spokesman thanked those who attended and took part in the fundraiser.
