An event which hopes to raise hundreds of pounds for a children’s charity will be held this weekend.

The Clevedon Lions Club will host its annual classic car show on Sunday, starting with a drive from Congresbury's Cadbury Garden Centre.

Alex Lovell, from BBC Points West, will wave off the cars at noon as they journey on to Salthouse Fields, in Clevedon.

The first event of this kind was held in 2007 with the Lions taking over its organisation in 2016 after the previous organiser retired.

A variety of food, trade and crafts stalls will be set up and 200 superbly restored historic cars and bikes.

The cars will start arriving at the fields from 12.30pm and remain on display until 5pm.

It is hoped the event will raise more than £6,000 for the Children's Hospice South West.

This would add to the £14,000 which has been raised in the past three years since the Lions took over the event.
