A ladies’ day has raised almost £2,000 for a childhood bereavement charity.

The event was held at Clevedon Hall where guests were treated to pampering treatments and stalls selling a variety of gifts and food produce.

The evening raised £1,800 for The Harvey Hext Trust – A Sibling’s Wish which creates memory boxes to give to children to help them come to terms with the loss of a brother or sister.

The charity was set up in memory of Harvey Hext from Winford, who died of a rare form of cancer aged nine.

Organiser Mandy Skinner said: “The charity evening went amazingly well.

“There were great quality craft stalls, pamper treatments, canapés and homemade cakes.”

The Harvey Hext Trust also works with bereavement services such as CLIC Sargent and Jessie May.
