Hundreds of people braved sub-zero temperatures to head to the Princes Hall to enjoy the club’s 60th event.

A club spokesman said: “It was a dazzling sunny day but with an extremely cold easterly wind.

“Walking into the warm Princes Hall, visitors said it was like walking into spring – however cold outside.

“A crowd of nearly 400 visited the show to admire the first flowers of spring and came to view the flowers, plants and sections on art and crafts, photography, baking and preserves.”

A people’s choice award was also handed out to mark the anniversary on Saturday.

There were no entries in the children and young adult classes so organisers have urged more people to get involved next year.
