A foodbank has been handed hundreds of pounds to enable it to continue supporting families and individuals during their time of need.

The Clevedon Yeo Rotary Club presented £900 to the Clevedon and District Foodbank after the club raised the cash at its recent quiz night.

Club spokesman Rob Ainsworth said: "We have a great relationship with the foodbank.

"They receive a large number of food donations but need funds to run their premises.

"Clevedon Yeo members also collect the donations from Tesco in Clevedon every week and deliver them to the foodbank.

"Locals are so generous. We are so happy to be able to help in any way we can.

"This facility is well-used and needed locally."

This is the latest in a string of donations the club has made to the local cause which provides emergency food packages to people who are struggling.

The emergency packages contain three days' worth of food.
