Flower club celebrates 55th anniversary

An afternoon was spent celebrating more than half a century for a flower club.

Clevedon and District Flower Club gathered to mark its emerald anniversary after forming back in 1964.

A summer lunch was held to mark the 55th anniversary which now has 85 members.

The club, which meets monthly at Princes Hall in Princes Road, is all about having fun with flowers and regularly welcomes demonstrators from near and far to give talks and share all aspect of floral artwork and techniques.

The celebration was held at Clevedon Hall with a talk from Tony Pinn from Clevedon Antiques who gave a valuation of items brought by the members.

The event concluded with the cutting of the anniversary cake, cut by president Nora Ford and chairman Audrey King.

The club is part of the National Association of Flower Arrangers Society and will meet on Tuesday at 7.30pm.
