A musical group has handed thousands of pounds to a charity.
Clevedon’s Barnacle Buoys performed to a large crowd at Portishead Methodist Church on Saturday to raise money for Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW).
The seven-man-strong a cappella group presented a cheque to charity representatives at the concert.
The sea shanty singers handed over £2,300 to the hospice, which they had been raising since June through bucket collections, CD sales and the concert.
The group, which is now in its sixth year, has so far donated just short of £11,000 to CHSW which is one of its named charities this year.
A Barnacle Buoys spokesman said: “We could not survive without the amazing amount of support we are given.
“We love what we do and 2019 is already looking like a fun-packed year for us all.”
The group’s other leading charity it is supporting this year is the RNLI, which has bases in Portishead and Weston.
