CLEAN kitchens and good standards of hygiene have been recognised with five star ratings being handed to food premises across North Somerset.

Last week, the Times revealed six outlets that had been graded with zero stars, the worst possible standard, by North Somerset Council inspectors between November 2009 and November 2010.

This week, the spotlight falls on schools, nurseries, restaurants, clubs and businesses that have all been rewarded with the best possible rating following successful inspections during the same time period.

Since December, the unitary authority has changed its rating system and now uses a national scheme run by the Food Standards Agency.
