Tara Playle, from Claverham, was one of 20 players to take part in the event organised by the Stroke Association with sponsorship from England golf and support from PGA professional Sarah Sutcliffe.

The 26-year-old stroke survivor said taking part in the tournament was an important milestone for her in her recovery.

She said: "Not in a million years did I ever think I'd be playing golf after suffering a massive stroke and having half my skull removed.

"It was a day I'll remember for years to come and I'm grateful for all who made it happen.

"I'm proud to be part of such an inspiring group of stroke survivors and the amazing volunteers."
