Church organist needed
CHURCHES in Barrow Gurney and Flax Bourton are looking for a new organist to play at their services.
The congregation meets in Barrow Gurney Church on the even dated Sundays of the month and in Flax Bourton Church in the odd dated Sundays.
The organist would be required for the weekly Sunday 10am service as well as all major feasts and festivals.
Barrow Gurney has a two manual pipe organ made by W Vowles of Bristol and is situated in the organ loft while Flax Bourton has a new electronic organ in the main body of the church.
The organist would also be invited to participate in one planning meeting each month with members of the worship team.
The churches have no formal choir but enjoy a wide range of music from two hymn books - the New English Hymnal and New Hymns and Worship Songs.
