Biannual Christmas tree festival raises nearly £2k for charity

Youngsters enjoyed decorating Christmas trees at a church festival in Clevedon at the weekend.
More than 800 people visited Christchurch, in Chapel Hill, to admire the efforts clubs made towards hanging tinsel, fairy lights and baubles on Christmas trees.
The festival is held every other year and celebrates events taking place in Clevedon and the surrounding district.
Music groups and choirs performed at the event, and Southern Clevedon WI came top of the poll for most popular tree with their crocheted entry.
A spokesman from Christchurch said: "Another successful Christmas Tree Festival was held at Christchurch over the weekend
"A total of nearly £2,000 was raised at the event, which will be divided between Make Lunch Clevedon, Care for Uganda, Uganda Concern UK and Christchurch's work with young people."
