A hamper which included a shopping voucher was raffled off to one lucky Portishead man.

The Clevedon Yeo Rotary Club gave away its Christmas hamper, raising more than £1,000 in the process.

The raffle raised around £1,200 in profit which will go towards benefiting
good causes in the community.

A Portishead man took home the festive prize – which included a £25 Tesco voucher – said he was ‘pleased and shocked’ to win.

Rotary club president Tony Carrington said: “We would like to thank all of the people who bought a ticket for their fantastic support and be assured the money will be put to good use in our community.

“We also acknowledge the support received at the Clevedon lights switch on and St Nicholas Fair in Hill Road, as well as the continued support from Tesco in Clevedon.

“We will continue to work hard for our community in 2019.”
