A SUCCESSFUL show choir from North Somerset is celebrating after being asked to perform in Disneyland.

Euphoria Show Choir, which rehearses in Backwell, has been invited to travel to Hollywood, in California, to give a series of performances as part of the Show Choir Championships.

The group, which was inspired by popular TV show Glee, was set up in 2010 and is led by musical directors Rachel Walker, Tina Kelly and Emma Mason.

Rachel said: “We are the only British show choir to be invited to take part in the championships and we are very excited to take our choir of young people on this amazing journey.”

The group is made up of 25 members aged 12 to 34 and has performed in New York, Dublin and the Royal Albert Hall in London.

The members are looking forward to jetting off to California together on Tuesday.
