A NEW children’s play area facility could open in Clevedon after the town council’s planning committee said it had no objections to the proposal.

Trudy Hutchings and Nikki Lee, of 139 Kenn Road, have applied to create Gigglez Funhouse, a soft play area for children aged 0-13 in Units 1a and 1b of Tweed Road Industrial Estate.

The application states: “The primary purpose of this business is to provide a safe, hygienic and stimulating place for children to explore and have lots of fun.

“There is currently no facility in Clevedon that provides a safe, fun environment for children of all ages and our research suggests significant support for our venture.”

The applicants also stated their intent to have a trial period consisting of one evening per month when
the facility would be open from
7-9pm for teenagers aged between 13 and 16.

The consultation period for this application expires on April 2.
