A GROUP of children had to be rescued from rocks near Clevedon Pier last night (Tues) after getting cut off by the tide.
The three youngsters, thought to be aged about 14-15, had been climbing on rocks underneath the pier when the fast moving water cut them off from the beach.
A call was made to the Coastguard at about 8pm and teams from Weston and Sharpness, which had been training near Clevedon at the time, answered it.
They were also joined by Clevedon’s Coastguard team to get the two boys and a girl, who were not accompanied by any adults, back to shore.
