Clevedon Court welcomed youngsters to enjoy tea and a cake with its residents and to take part in games.

The activities have had a proved positive affect on young children and pensioners.

Games included teddy bear-themed crossword and word search puzzles.

Activities co-ordinator, Amanda Rowles, believes the positive impact gained from the interaction is invaluable.

She said: "They help children to embrace the older people in their communities.

"We kept the picnic very interactive - it was a chance for the children to meet our residents and see how approachable older people are. Our residents loved spending time with the children.

"Taking part in activities promotes health and wellbeing by encouraging residents to express themselves."
