A CLEVEDON man died while taking part in a Lands End to John O’Groats charity cycle ride.
Martyn Uzzell was taking part in the challenge to raise money for the North Somerset children’s charity Springboard Opportunity Group when he was involved in an accident with a car on June 17.
The 51-year-old was travelling along the A65 in North Yorkshire toward Cumbria with two other cyclists at about 9.50am. He was at the rear of the group when he and a red Volkswagen Golf, travelling in the same direction, collided.
He died at the scene of the collision before being taken to Airedale General Hospital.
North Yorkshire Police have made an appeal for witnesses to the accident. Anyone with information should call 0845 6060 247.
